Abram and Sarai (Abraham and Sarah)

Today in R.E (Religious Education) we made a slide of Abraham and Sarah from the bible in the Old Testament. Instead of doing it like old time, we did it like modern. And when I mean modern, I mean like between 2010 and 2018.  Some others chose to do a play based on it. We worked very hard on it.

Information report: Red foxes



Red foxes

WALT: Write about an information report about a mammal.

The Red Fox is one of the seven species of foxes.They are related to dogs.They actually came from North America and Europe.
Here is some more information about them.

The Red Foxes habitat belongs in the Grasslands, Deserts, Mountains,Forests, Suburban areas.
They are not really endangered. There are still lots in the wild.
Because we still hunt them but they are still not endangered.

Babies life cycle:
The male Fox and the female fox will mate.
The female Fox will make 1 to 10 kits after mating.The female fox will
dig dens while the male fox will find some food.

The red fox’s diet: for a diet, red foxes can eat berries, grasses and fruit.Foxes can eat fish or seafood, squirrels, birds and other animals.

The red fox can change white in snowy winters to keep safe from predators in the snow.In the summer and spring, the red fox’s fur is
dirt brown to camouflage with the dirt or trees.

The Red Foxes hunt anytime, especially at night
because some foxes are nocturnal. They start off by stalking or
following their prey. When their prey stops, they pounce when it’s time
Foxes aren’t dangerous to people but some are because they are rabid.

Cyber safety

In our ICT inquiry, we learnt to not share public and private things. We learnt to not share your address, your real name, your school, your birthday, and a picture of yourself. Share things that are appropriate.
Like, an funny video, or a gaming video. We put lots of information on this slide. Benny and Otis and me worked very hard on this slide. We hope you be amazed!

Science experiment

Today in science, we learned about reaction. We tested if the wet or the dry tissue will soak up the colors with the colors, red, green, blue and yellow.  The yellow is actually in the blue container because it's changing colors. The result was the dry paper towels soaked liquid up best because the wet ones already had some liquid in them but the dry ones didn't.

Stay hydrated!

WALT: learn how to stay hydrated.
STAY HYDRATED!
If you want to stay hydrated here are some tips:
Drink 2 litres a day/8 glasses.
Keep a bottle of water with you during the day.
You can drink soda water or tonic water to stay hydrated.
When you feel hungry you're actually thirsty so drink water.

Life cycle of a star

Star life cycle
WALT: to explain how stars work.
Stars are everywhere. When you look into the night sky, you can see them.
In the daytime you can’t see them but they’re still there.
First phase. Protostar
A star’s life cycle depends on its mass in it’s nebula.
The cloud where it was born.
The more mass,the shorter the life cycle.
The mass is determined by the amount of matter.The star starts to spin faster and faster until it reaches 15,000,000 degrees.
This means it has become a protostar.


Second phase.Red giant
As the star glows,hydrogen in the star’s
Core is changed by the nuclear fusion.
When the hydrogen supply in the star’s core runs out,the star won’t be generating heat anymore and, the core will be unstable and shrink.
The outer shell of the star will still grow larger.As it grows larger, it will cool and glow red.It has become a red giant.
It is red because in the core of the red giant, the helium has joined into the carbon.


Third phase.White or black dwarf
If the red giant doesn't have enough mass to create the core temperatures,near 1 hundred billion, required to combine lots of carbon and oxygen created at its center.When it sheds its outer layer,there will be a ring shaped shell of gas leaving its core behind.
Over the years,maybe billions of centuries, the white dwarf will cool and become a black dwarf.

The Last phase,Supernova.
Then the red giant becomes a red super giant triggered nearby a white dwarf which makes a supernova then ends up like a black hole or a neutron star.
That's how a stars life cycle goes.
It was very long but that's how a life cycle goes!
